FOLK FESTIVAL 2008. 9th

The Aim of the Festival is to bring together the very best of 'old & new'. We will be presenting established artists from around Britain, as well as some of the best young talent around. The flavour will be very much Northumbrian, but we will also be adding a little international flavour, whenever we can!

We aim invite a mixture of full time professional performers, gifted amateurs and traditional performers, along with students & school bands. They are invited to be with us for the weekend on the basis of a working holiday (together with their families where this is appropriate). We try to pay the professionals a ‘wage’ for the weekend but this in no way reflects what their individual fees might be elsewhere. With the others we try to ensure that they are not out of pocket when with us. The essence of the festival is one of joining in or being part of a very extended family.
